Community Event - Chicago Author Series: Jim Edwards
Free, thought provoking discussions about our regional history and culture with local authors and those who write about it. Authors from around Chicagoland will present their books in a fun and informal fashion every Saturday in October at 1pm. Join us for a deep discussion, coffee and refreshments in the Netzley/Yender Farmhouse. Seating is on a first come basis. Free parking available in the lot in front of the Beaubien Tavern, at Village Hall, and in the commuter parking lots. October 5 "Chicago's Lollapalooza Days 1893-1934" by Jim Edwards Jim Edwards is the author of 10 other Chicago and suburban city books: Aurora, Chicago's Opulent Age, Chicago Entertainment, North Aurora, Chicago, Batavia, Elgin, Kane County, and Chicago: City of Flight. Chicago from 1893-1934 was alive with raucous people and reformers as well as people who helped mother Jazz, Ragtime, and The Blues.
